French Montana bought the home for just under $ 1 million in 2013.
Rapper French Montana’s 6,134-square-foot Morris County home went on the market last month for $ 1.4 million, according to its Trulia listing.
The historic Pompton Plains home, which was built in 1781, is located on a gated property of more than an acre of land. A long driveway leads to the home’s entrance, which is highlighted by striking columns.
Inside, the home has 18 rooms, including six bedrooms and five-and-a-half bathrooms.
“A must see property,” the listing says.
The Moroccan-born artist, whose legal name is Karim Kharbouch, bought the property for just under $ 1 million in 2013, according to property records. TMZ first reported that the home was back on the market in June.
Some of the highlights inside the home include: a glitzy living room with dual 1850s fireplaces, a “dramatic” dining room that also has a fireplace, a newly updated high-end kitchen, and a master bedroom suite that has a custom walk-in closet and a balcony overlooking the property’s “luxuriant and private breathtaking grounds,” according to the listing.
While many of the rooms have a classical look to them, the rapper also has some luxurious amenities, such as an entertainment room with a bar and a movie theater. Also on the property are separate living quarters that have a full kitchen and bathroom, as well as a music studio.
Outside is a pool, a cabana and a custom basketball court.
Property taxes were $ 21,033 in 2018. The property was last assessed for $ 947,000, according to property records.
French Montana immigrated to the U.S. when he was 13 and grew up in the Bronx. The rapper had a successful 2017, in which his album “Jungle Rules” was at one point No. 4 on the Billboard 200. The song “Unforgettable” on that album reached the top 10 of Billboard’s Hot 100.
